Summer is just round the corner, and you live near a beautiful harbour, so why not have a go at this awesome sport? Everyone knows New Zealand leads the world in big boat sailing, but did you know a windsurfer goes much faster than almost any other sailing vessel! So come along and give it a go.
This is an awesome opportunity for youngsters to experience windsurfing.
The Bay of Plenty Sailing Academy (BoPSAT), Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club (TYPBC), and Steve’s Marine Supplies (Gold Sponsor) have put together a programme which gets kids out on the water, having fun whilst experiencing windsurfing in a safe environment.
All specialist equipment, staff and safety considerations are in place and ready to go.
These are run during school time and throughout the year.
Aim: to provide the opportunity for students to experience windsurfing for the first time and to promote the 'Learn to Windsurf' programme.
Target Market: school students and youth groups in the Bay of Plenty.
Age Range: 8 to 16, we operate with a range of easy to use boards and rigs, which compliment all ages.
School Years: 4 to 12.
Group Size: 6 students per session. Instructor ratio 1:6, (one school supervisor required, can be a parent or teacher).
Duration: one day, 9am to 2.30pm (times can vary slightly).
Availability: year round, on school days.
Cost: $25 per student, in groups of 12.
